I’ve been creating a lot of art but not taking the time to do much cleaning, just jumping to the next project. It was time to clean it because I’m leaving my studio to go on a mission for my church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. So this is the before picture and this…….
is the after picture. Hmmmm. Still better than before.
I was able to to check out a couple of my paintings before I left. I caught this painting down in St. George.
We had to put our car on a slow boat to paradise. The trip started in Long Beach, California and ended in Honolulu, Hawaii. So I could spend some time in San Pedro and really study and look at the paintings in the National Watercolor Society’s Membership show, which I was so pleased to have been juried into. It was amazing to be in a show with some great watercolor artists such as Dawn Mitchell and Bev Jozwiak. I had time to look at and study each painting.
Then we were off to the Missionary Training Center In Provo where young returned missionaries taught us how to turn on our cell phones and look up bible videos on LDS.org. Some of us needed more help than others. We were able to meet some amazing senior missionaries heading to far away places with different assignments.
The above painting was a gift for one of our new found friends. So here is a scripture for you all from the Bible: Luke 12:27 “Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. If then God so clothe the grass, which is today in the field, and tomorrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you…?”
I love tulips. You can see them shoot upward through the spring snow. No tulips over here. No spring snow either. There are ukulele lessons.
Hi Sherry Meidell, Best wishes on your mission! You were brave to show your before picture. I’m trying to get stuff out of my studio too. I thought I had a spare bedroom where I could safely store things. But just this week my daughter who needs help asked is she could live with me for “3 months”. She has a darling 4 year old. Of course I said yes. (My son and his wife and son moved out late February). But, now I’ll have to figure another spot for all my boards and boxes of papers and frames and many brushes and o well you already know it. So glad you are my friend. Love, Mafs MaryAnn Free Smith681 S. Palisade Dr.Orem, Utah 84097
Sherrie Goudy and I were commenting on how pretty your tulip are as we walked past them this morning. 🌷🌷🌷
Yes we left just as they were getting all up.
Thanks Maryann. Yes my studio was a mess. Now when I get home, I will be able to at least walk into it. Good luck cleaning out your studio. I’ve set up a little spot over here in Hawaii where I can paint. Glad to be your friend also.
Always feels good to get things back in order. Love your paintings 🖼🙂
Yes I like to get things back in order once every 10 years or so.
Lol 🙂
