2012 in review
The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.
Here’s an excerpt:
600 people reached the top of Mt. Everest in 2012. This blog got about 3,100 views in 2012. If every person who reached the top of Mt. Everest viewed this blog, it would have taken 5 years to get that many views.

Charles Dickens and Duck Tape

Here is Ye Olde Art Shoppe. The duck tape and refrigerator boxes transformed into an English Facade. We are upstairs in the Scrooge building. Venture up the stairs or you can ride the Victorian Elevator in the North West corner of the building. The lights make everything look magical especially after dark. Becky has some nice oils and watercolors. I have some watercolors and some Christmas Giclee’s. Come find us at the Festival, Monday through Thursday 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. The last day is December 15th.
Refrigerator Boxes and Duck Tape
Becky Hartvigsen and I will be at the Dicken’s Festival this year at the Salt Lake Fair Grounds. Come and see us and check out our fine watercolors and assorted sundry items for your shopping pleasure.
Here is the ad that was in the Deseret News Sunday Paper (The London Times Section). There is also a coupon in that paper to get into the Festival for $1.00 off. The best deal is Friday December 7th from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. you can get into the festival for free. It runs from December 7th until December 15th. Fridays and Saturdays 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. No festing on Sunday.
Here is a map of where we will be, on the second floor of the big building. See the teeny tiny red circle?
Here is one of my watercolors that will hang in the booth. It is a 22” x 50” watercolor on canvas.
Now why the refrigerator boxes and duck tape? Well you can’t just put up your tent. It has to look like old England. Can I do it? Can I transform refrigerator boxes and duck tape into Old Dicken’s England. Will Becky and I get thrown out with our hand sewn Old English Bonnets? Stay tuned. We have to set up tomorrow and only then will we know for sure. I can see it in my head but will it translate to three dimensions?
Local Colors also has some of my watercolors and oils at the Gallery at 1054 E. 2100 S., Salt Lake City, Utah. The Gallery Stroll is also this Friday, December 14th. Enjoy the season.
Freshly Sharpened Pencils
I am thankful for the smell of freshly sharpened pencils, kneaded erasers, and so, so many other things, dear to my heart. Have a nice Thanksgiving and spend time with your dear ones.
